Background Information

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training after graduating from dental school. Dr. Forshey graduated from Harvard Medical School, and this extra education is helpful when dealing with complex medical conditions. Dr. Forshey manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. She works as a team member with the general dentist, orthodontist, other dental specialists and/or medical doctors to provide the best quality care in the safest environment.

The clinical staff team members are trained in assisting with nitrous oxide, Intravenous (IV) sedation, and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during surgery based on the standards set forth by both the state of Maryland and the Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). Our office uses modern technology to improve diagnosis, treatment, and patient recovery. We have invested in modern equipment including a CBCT scanner (cat scanner) which allows for detailed information to be obtained in the office.
